A Call to Prayer

The past two Sunday celebrations have impacted me in such an unusual way.  I heard a clear call to prayer coming from the Holy Spirit through the worship, words, testimonies and messages over these two weeks.  Last Sunday Pastor Benny Ho spoke on prayer and intercession reminding us that Zechariah 10:1 tells us to: “Ask the LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain” (NKJV).  So when the rain is already falling and you are getting wet, ask for more!  While it seems illogical, this is the principle: God wants us to ask for what He is already giving.  Why?   Because He has chosen to allow us to be active players in what he is doing!  Abraham experienced this when he interceded on behalf of Sodom and Gomorrah.  God was perfectly willing to spare these wicked cities, as long as Abraham was willing to ask.  This is the partnership of prayer and intercession that God invites us to join.

So we are definitely called to pray and I want to urge you to answer this call.  Cell groups can give extra time to prayer.  Continue to petition God for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit even though we are already experienced this (ask for more rain!).  Pray for your pre-believing family members, friends, co-workers, etc.  Pray for the nation and government of Singapore and for the advance of God’s kingdom. These are times to ask, seek and knock, to ask for the increase and enlargement of what He is already doing.  Don’t be shy about asking, God is waiting for us before He acts!

Answers are on the way.

Ps George
